We’re leading the final day with a shoe-tapping performance from Albert Lee and some ‘ingenius’ new product in the shape of the Mark Bass MoMark.
The Super 55 takes the design of the 55SH model and updates it with cutting edge microphone technology, offering a combination of classic design and contemporary professional performance.

First produced in 1951, the 55SH body has remained in continuous production since and has been used by numerous musical greats including Elvis Presley. The Super 55 brings the iconic design into the 21st century, with a new motor and supercardioid cartridge added to provide clear vocal reproduction that works on virtually any voice. High output and excellent off-axis rejection also aid in upgrading the performance of a classic microphone.

The Super 55 features the signature satin chrome-plated die-cast casing, with vibrant blue foam. The result is an instantly recognisable microphone with the performance of modern professional audio equipment.

“The 55SH is possibly the most recognisable microphone on the planet” comments Paul Crognale, Marketing Manager, Shure Distribution UK. “While the design continues to be popular over 50 years after first being produced, sound engineers increasingly require additional gain-before-feedback during performances that is provided by a supercardioid polar pattern. We’ve developed the Super 55 so they no longer need to choose between classic style and first class performance, they can now have both.”

The Super 55 is available in the UK with an estimated price of £243.85. For more information, please visit http://whatsnew.shure.co.uk/ and click on the ‘Super 55′ tab.

The brand new range arrives in the UK with three models, the SRH240, SRH440 and SRH840, combining Shure’s legendary quality and heritage with class-leading technology.

The new headphones represent Shure’s first foray into the headphone market and range from entry level and home recording offerings to premium quality professional headphones.
The SRH240 headphones are the entry level headphones in the new series. They are designed for general listening and monitoring applications and offer powerful bass response and clear highs. Weighing just 181 grams, the SRH240 are amongst the lightest in their class and are incredibly comfortable to wear due to an adjustable headband. These professional quality headphones incorporate a closed-back, circumaural design, which ensures an excellent sound isolation experience is delivered to the user’s ear.

The SRH440 headphones are for professional home recording and studio monitoring applications. They offer an enhanced frequency response that delivers accurate audio across an extended range. The detachable single-side cable and collapsible construction guarantees a high level of comfort and portability. These professional studio headphones enable excellent sound isolation to be delivered through the unique closed-back, circumaural design.

The flagship headphone model is the SRH840. The headphones offer the widest frequency response (5 Hz to 25 kHz), tailored to deliver rich bass, clear mids and extended highs. These headphones are targeted for studio monitoring and recording applications offering the same detachable cable and collapsible design as the SRH440 model. In addition, a padded adjustable headband has been incorporated for superior fit and comfort. The SRH840 is supplied with a carrying bag and an additional set of ear pads.

“Shure is well known in the professional audio and consumer audio market for our range of in-ear earphones” comments Paul Crognale, Marketing Manager at Shure Distribution UK. “We’ve drawn on our experience with pro audio monitoring systems and sound isolation technology and applied it to a whole new range of headphones. Shure kit is installed in studios across the globe and we anticipate the high quality of the new range will make these headphones as commonplace in the studio as our microphones are now.”

The Shure SRH240, SRH440 and SRH840 headphones are available from July 09 in the UK. For more information, please visit http://whatsnew.shure.co.uk/ and click on the ‘headphones’ tab.
